KATHRYN JOHNSON GLASER
Kathryn Johnson Glaser
Kathryn, who is presently a docent at the Zimmerli Art Museum in New Brunswick, has focused her highly creative talents and artistic abilities on educating children and adults of all ages in both academic studies and all creative arts. She has an in-depth understanding of stimulating and cultivating the innate creativity.
Earning her B. A. at Newark State and M.A. at Kean College, Kathryn taught grades 1, 2 and 3 in the Edison, N.J. schools. After retiring from her 21-year career in the classroom, she remained with the Edison Education system in teacher training for 10 years before retiring in 2003.
In the summer of 2006, Kathryn taught a photojournalism class for teenagers at the Zimmerli Art Museum and found it most rewarding, as she enjoyed watching the students apply the art of photojournalism to other art forms and other aspects of their lives. She, personally, continues her own education, taking art classes, silk screening and she recently studied, "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain."
Originally from Perth Amboy, she has been a resident of Metuchen, N.J. for many years. Kathryn has two daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter.
