DR. BERNARD ROSE
As a professor, author, clarinetist, flutist, and saxaphone player, Dr. Rose has been awarded & honored for his performances, writing, research and teaching. He has traveled extensively, performing in various Symphonies and Bands throughout the U.S., Japan, Canada, and including Cruise Line Show Bands. He has performed with such greats as Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, Bob Hope, Pearl Baily, Dave Brubeck, Mel Torme, Milt Hinton, Clark Terry, Louis Bellson, Ed Shaughnessy, Leslie Uggams, Mac Davis, Kenny Rogers, Louise Mandrell, Shirley Jones, Debbie Reynolds, George Burns, Carol Channing, Angela Lansbury.
Dr. Rose is a member of the National Music Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda and has been honored by the IAJE State Chapter Newsletter of the Year. He was named Music Educator of the Year by Odessan Magazine.
He has been a featured Soloist with the U.S. Navy Band Saxophone Symposium, Northwest Conference of North American Saxophone Alliance, and The World Saxophone Congress in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Rose is presently an Associate Professor of Music (Adjunct) at the Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY where he is the Director of Graduate Music Education Courses; Advisor to D.M.A. Candidates and teaches Graduate and Undergraduate Music History along with being the Director of the Jazz Orchestra.
From 1998, Dr. Rose has taught Orchestra and General Music at Cardozo High School in Bayside, New York.
