A PERSONAL NOTE:
'Song of Hannah," and "Garden of Ruth," are so very well written and interwoven that once a person begins reading, it's difficult to part with the book until the last page is turned. I love the way Eva brings Biblical personalities to life while interrelating each personal story. I'm fascinated with how she constructs the ancient vernacular, individual voices, and specific components of Judiasm into modern understanding without loosing the rhythm of ancient language. This is so well done that people in other cultures can comprehend the way of life thousands of years ago. Moreover she brings to life the spiritural, psychological, and sociological essence of a woman in ancient times.
