Zita Geoffroy Heinz

Zita received her training as a Theatre major at King's College, and is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. While pursuing a professional acting career, she continued her training in Method Acting with Stella Adler, Shakespeare with Aaron Frankel of HB Studios, and later the Meisner Technique with Max Gartenberg.

She has studied voice privately with Jane Olian and Shirley Callaway and modern dance with the legendary Hanya Holm. Her Broadway Dance instruction was with Harry Woolever.

As a scholarship student at the West Side Dance Project, she studied ballet, tap and jazz, and taught dance movement to pre-school children for the West Side Dance Project "Young People's Dance" program.

Zita appeared on Broadway as the Cheshire Cat in Eva LeGallienne's production of Alice in Wonderland. Her Regional and Stock credits include playing opposite Tony Musante in the Walnut Street Theatre production of The Big Knife.  She played Agnes in I Do! I Do!, and Catherine in Pippin!

She toured New York City parks with the King's County Shakespeare Company in such roles as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Rosalind in As You Like It, and Julia in Two Gentlemen of Verona. She was a featured singer in the original musical revue, Invade my Privacy, which premiered music and lyrics written by Steve Allen.

Television appearances include Sarah, the reporter on One Life to Live, Bob Braun's girlfriend on Another World, and assorted featured appearances on All My Children, The Equalizer, and Law and Order. Her feature film credits include Meryl Streep's confidante, Diane in She Devil.

Zita has also worked as a professional make-up artist, and has done private monologue coaching, and audition technique.

She taught acting and dance to children aged 5 -12 for the Edison Township Recreation Department and was the Founder and Artistic Director of the Woodbridge Township "Children's Summer Theatre Workshop."

While raising her two children Zita has taken select acting roles while freelancing as a professional meeting and event planner. Sharing her passion for the Theatre is a joy, and Zita is very excited to be bringing her experience to the students of Stars Theatre Academy.
